Philatelic activity

AFBv has for purpose the organization of the philatelic area into specialty groups: traditional philately, postal history, topical philately, aero-philately, maximaphily, postal stationery, etc.

Therefore, we meet on a weekly basis, each Sunday from 9.oo A.M. to 12.oo at our premises, whereas each Tuesday (from 10.oo A.M. to 12.oo) and Thursday (from 16.oo to 18.oo) the members have access to out library, where all Michel catalogues, Roumanian catalogues a.s.o. plus many auction catalogues are available for consultation.

We offer consultations, valuations and expertization in certain areas to any interested party, inheritors etc and offer initiation for the new, aspiring collectors interested in philately or for exhibitors.

Within our association there are some exhibitors who, throughout the years, have been awarded a great many medals in international (FIP and FEPA) as well as national exhibitions.

We have, as well, a few national jury members ascertained for certain areas in respect with our national exhibitions. From 1989 on, our Association is organizing trade fairs – in philatelic, numismatic and antiques areas. Growing over the last 27 years, we have now reached the XCVII-th edition. We started with one event per year attended by ca 100-120 collectors, while we are nowadays hosting four yearly events attended by over 500 collectors and visitors per event from about ten countries.

The next event of the kind will occur on 26 November, in the I.T.C. exhibition complex of Braşov, str. Al.Vlahuţă nr. 10. The program of the 2017 events is scheduled as follows: 18-th March, 10-th June, 2 September and 25 November.
